I watched the movie “Black Swan” this weekend and I strongly advice all of you to enjoy it as well. It was released last week in the States and I believe it will be in the movie theaters by the end of February 2011 in Turkey . I wanted to leave an opinion about this remarkable movie so that you might remember when you are ready to go and see it J
Very briefly, this movie is about the hostilities among the ballerinas of a certain company to become the “Queen Swan”. It is a drama-thriller which definitely surrounds you deeper as you keep watching it. The main characters have complex psychologies; they are extremely passionate people with high expectations from life who live in grandeur spaces. One reason I wanted to see the movie so badly (we couldn’t find a spot in the movie theaters in its first week of release) was of course because of the subject of the” Black Swan” but the other reason- maybe more importantly - was that I recently viewed Vincent Cassel’s Mesrine series and I wanted to enjoy his performance one more time on the big screen. Even though his name was listed among the leading actors the stage was Natalie Portman’s this time. Directed by Darren Aronofsky the movie showcases talented actresses Mila Kunis, Barbara Hersey, Winona Ryder as well. The performances are extraordinary, the soundtrack is of course moving, the drama- thriller theme is carefully balanced so there is not much left to say but to go and enjoy this movieJ
