2010 yilini geride birakip yepyeni umutlarla 2011'e baslamamiza cok az bir zaman kaldi. Kendi adima 2010 yilinin hayatima kattigi guzelliklerden dolayi cok memnunum ama 2011 yilina gecen sene oldugundan cok daha pozitif ve daha umutlu girmeye de kararliyim. Umuyorum ki yeni gelen yil, tum dileklerinizin gerceklesecegi, saglik ve mutlulugun hayatinizdan hic eksik olmayacagi bir yil olur:)

Yarindan itibaren 2 hafta boyunca Istanbul'umda olacagim ama bu sirada Chez Elif'i guncel tutmak icin de elimden geleni yapacagim:)

2011 yilina girmenin arifesinde Elif'in Dolabi'nda sizlerle en cok sevdigim markalardan bir digerini, Juicy Couture'u, paylasmak istiyorum. Amerika'da yeni yilin insani en cok mutlu eden taraflarindan birisi de indirim firsatlaridir. Ozellikle tasarim urunlerini Aralik ayi icerisinde geri kalan 11 ay boyunca hayal edemeyeceginiz fiyatlara almaniz mumkundur:) Zira ben de su anda cok uzun zamandir pesinde kostugum Juicy Couture marka cuzdanima bu sayede sahip olmus olmanin mutlulugunu yasiyorum. In a little while, we will welcome the New Year. Personally, 2010 was a wonderful year for me but I promised myself to celebrate 2011 even more positively. I hope in 2011, all your wishes will come true and you will enjoy a healthy and successful year with your loved ones! 

I will be in my lovely Istanbul for the next 2 weeks but I promise to keep Chez Elif updated during that time:)

Right before New Years', I wanted to share of my favorite designer labels; Juicy Couture, with you in Elif's Closet. Honestly, one of the most fascinating facts about America during the  holiday season are the wonderful sales you will see while shopping. In this way you can buy especially designer products at a proce that you will not see during the rest of 11 months:) As for me I was happy to find the Juicy Couture wallet I was chasing after for a while now thanks to the wonderful sales. Saltimbanco Italyanca  “saltare in banco” yani bir “banka atlamak” demekmis. Cirque du Soleil Istanbul gibi muhtesem bir metropoliste sergilemek icin cok uygun bir oyun secmis dogrusu. Cirque du Soleil is coming to Istanbul!!

Saltimbanco is coming to Istanbul on February 18, 2011 will be on the stage until March 5^th. The show will take place at Abdi Ipekci Arena and it is actually one of Cirque du Soleil’s longest running ones; Saltimbanco! J For more information about this phenomenal show you can visit their website;

Black Swan (Siyah Kugu)

Amerika’da gectigimiz hafta vizyona giren Black Swan’i (Siyah Kugu) bu hafta sonu buyuk bir keyifle izledim. Sizlere de gormenizi mutlaka tavsiye ederim. Turkiye’de vizyona girme tarihi 28 Subat 2011 olarak belirlenmis ama bu sene Oscar’in en iddiali adaylarindan birisi olacak olan Siyah Kugu sinemalara geldiginde aklinizin bir kosesinde benim nacizane yorumum da bulunsun istedim J Cok ana hatlari ile Kugu Golu balesinde basrolu kapmak icin balerinler arasinda gecen savasi anlatan bu film; beyazperdede beni en cok etkileyen filmlerden birisi oldu. Zira Kugu Golu balesinin sinemada da bu kadar cekici olabilecegini hic dusunmemistim.

Insani yavas yavas avucunun icine alan, bir sure sonra ne oldugunu tam olarak anlayamamanin getirdigi merakla kah buyulenip, kah gerilerek izlediginiz bir film Siyah Kugu. Hirsli insanlarin, buyuk hayallerin, urkutucu ama cekici mekanlarin onemli bir yer kapladigi filmdeki karakterlerin ruh dunyalari da bir o kadar caprasik. Bu filmi gormeyi cok istemis olmamin (ilk haftasinda yogun ilgiden dolayi sinema salonlarinda yer bile bulamadik) ilk nedeni filmin konusu idi ise bir digeri-itiraf ediyorum belki de daha da onemlisi- cok yakin zamanda Vincent Cassel’in cok etkilendigim “Mesrine”(Mesrine; The Killer Instinct & Mesrine  serisinin bende yarattigi Cassel hayranligi idi. Vincent Cassel’in ismi basrol oyunculari arasinda gecse de bu filmde esas olarak Natalie yildizlasiyor. Usta yonetmen Darren Aronofsky’nin yonettigi filmde Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassell, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hersey, Winona Ryder gibi guclu bir oyuncu kadrosu, muhtesem bir senaryo harikulade bir soundtrack’le birlesince ortaya tadina doyulmaz bir gorsel solen cikiyorJ

I watched the movie “Black Swan” this weekend and I strongly advice all of you to enjoy it as well. It was released last week in the States and I believe it will be in the movie theaters by the end of February 2011 in Turkey. I wanted to leave an opinion about this remarkable movie so that you might remember when you are ready to go and see it J

Very briefly, this movie is about the hostilities among the ballerinas of a certain company to become the “Queen Swan”. It is a drama-thriller which definitely surrounds you deeper as you keep watching it. The main characters have complex psychologies; they are extremely passionate people with high expectations from life who live in grandeur spaces. One reason I wanted to see the movie so badly (we couldn’t find a spot in the movie theaters in its first week of release) was of course because of the subject of the” Black Swan” but the other reason- maybe more importantly - was that I recently viewed Vincent Cassel’s Mesrine series and I wanted to enjoy his performance one more time on the big screen. Even though his name was listed among the leading actors the stage was Natalie Portman’s this time. Directed by Darren Aronofsky the movie showcases talented actresses Mila Kunis, Barbara Hersey, Winona Ryder as well. The performances are extraordinary, the soundtrack is of course moving, the drama- thriller theme is carefully balanced so there is not much left to say but to go and enjoy this movieJ

MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) ya da Skechers Shape Ups?

Malum yilbasi yaklasiyor. Simdilerde hepimiz sevdiklerimize verecegimiz en kullanisli, en guzel hediyenin pesine dusmus durumdayiz. Firsat bu firsat, ben de coktandir gozume ilisen su kalin tabanli, yururken bizi forma soktugu soylenen ayakkabilarla ilgili bir arastirma yapayim dedim. Internette konu ile ilgili ortalikta gezen o kadar cok yorum var ki insan hangisini okuyacagini sasiriyor dogrusu. Girisimci bir makina muhendisinin modernizmin basladigi yillarda bir prototip olarak uretilmesi hayali ile insa ettigi "Ay cicegi" evinin hikayesini evin sahibinin kizinin agzindan dinleyeceksiniz.
Cok etkileyici, biraz huzunlu ama kesinlikle belleklerde tatli bir ani birakacak bir film bu;

Kucuklugunde ve genc kizliginda dans dersleri almis olan Betsey genelde defilelerinin bitiminde ”cartwheel” adi verilen dansini yapmasiyla da unludurJ  Once Pratt Institute sonra da Syracuse Universitesi’nde okumus olan bu harika tasarimci, kesinlikle benim listemde en ust sirada yer aliyor.
