 As a shoe lover,  I fell in love with designer Aycin Aydogan's shoes the first time I saw them. I visited http://www.oyeedesign.com/ immediately and sent her an e-mail. I told her that I loved her designs,  I have a blog that I write about anything that is beautiful and I would like to showcase her shoes there:) She replied to me and she told me that she would be happy to have her shoes showcased in Chez Elif so here they are:) Aycin also informed me that if anyone would like to buy them; they can do so via her website soon. As Valentines Day is coming and we all watch Suleyman the Magnificent on TV nowadays;  I wouldn't miss this opportunity to share these beauties. Ama aslinda, Amerika ve Turkiye arasinda gidip geldigim zamanlarda giyim konusundaki tercihleri birbirinden cok farkli olan bu iki kitadaki arkadaslarim bana hep nerden giyindigimi sordugu icin diyebilirim:)

The reason why I created “Elif’s Closet” section is; my passion for fashion, shopping and colors :)

But in fact the main factor is because my friends who have different expectations from fashion in these two different continents always asked me where I bought my clothes during my trips between Turkey and the States.

Now that I have my own place, I can share my experiences with you. If you are ready, we can take a look at my closet. Cok keyif alacagima emin oldugum bu bolumde, ilk olarak hangi parcalari sergilemeliyim diye dusundugumde aklima hemen Betsey Johnson geldi J

Biraz siradisi olarak tanimlayabilecegimiz bu tasarimcinin ozellikle ayakkabi ve takilari gercekten takdire sayan. Eger siz de asimetriye benim kadar duskunseniz, Betsey’nin kupe ve kolyelerine ayni benim oldugum gibi asik olacaksiniz demektir.  MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) ya da Skechers Shape Ups?


Malum yilbasi yaklasiyor. Simdilerde hepimiz sevdiklerimize verecegimiz en kullanisli, en guzel hediyenin pesine dusmus durumdayiz. Firsat bu firsat, ben de coktandir gozume ilisen su kalin tabanli, yururken bizi forma soktugu soylenen ayakkabilarla ilgili bir arastirma yapayim dedim. Internette konu ile ilgili ortalikta gezen o kadar cok yorum var ki insan hangisini okuyacagini sasiriyor dogrusu. Ben de madem bu konuda bu kadar sey okudum eger konuyu benim gibi merak edenler varsa onlar da benim kadar cok vakit kaybetmesinler diyerek buldugum bilgileri sizinle paylasiyorumJ



 Amerika’da oldugu kadar Turkiye’de de bu konuda en cok bilinen marka MBT yani acik ismi ile Masai Barefoot Technology. Bu ayakkabilar aslinda ilk olarak vucudu forma sokmak icin degil, ayaklari ya da omurilikleri ile ilgili sorunlari olan kisiler icin tasarlanmis. O yuzden gorunusleri cok da cezbedici degil. Yeni cikanlarini bu yorumum disinda tutuyorum zira daha fazla renk ve daha ince cizgiler zamanla MBT’lere eklenmis. Ancak fiyat olarak hala Turkiye’de 400 TL civarinda satiliyorken Amerika’da da fiyatlari $ 200’ a kadar cikabiliyor. Yani siradan bir spor ayakkabi ile karsilastirildiginda fiyatlari oldukca fahis kaliyor. Cesitler ve fiyatlari icin Elif'in Dolabi'na bakabilirsiniz.

Pek cogumuzun yakindan tanidigi Sketchers markasinin MBT’lere rakip olarak gecen sene cikardigi “Shape Up” cizgisi ise esas olarak yururken daha cok kalori yakmaniz hesaplanarak piyasaya surulmus. Tabani MBT’lere oranla daha az yuksek, gorunusu ve renkleri daha cezbedici,  fiyati da butceye daha uygun. Su anda Amerika’da asagi yukari $100 dolar civarinda satisa sunuluyor. Su ana dek yazdiklarima bakildiginda MBT’lerin butun gun ayakta duran ve ayak sagligi ile ilgili problem yasayan kisilere daha uygun oldugu gibi bir anlayis ortaya cikmis olsa da MBT’lerin daha uzun bir gecmise sahip oldugu, daha zor kirlendigi ve daha zor yiprandigiini da eklemeliyim. Asagida her iki ayakkabinin uretici firmalarinin yayinlamis oldugu ozellikleri siraliyorum. Sanirim bu kiyas MBT mi yoksa Sketch Up mi alsam diye dusunenlere cok faydali olacaktir.

A Comparison of MBT and Sketchers Shape Ups?

Since Christmas is fast approaching and we are all looking for useful and beautiful presents for our loved ones; I wanted to summarize what I have found on a comparison between MBT(Masai Barefoot Technology) Shoes and Sketchers Shape Ups. I had been looking for this comparison for quite some time now and it seems that there are many discussions going on about it. Below you can find the characteristics of both and decide which one would suit you/or your loved ones more. You can also view Elif's Closet for the variety and prices.

I would like to mention briefly that MBT’s are initially designed to correct foot and back problems therefore; their appearances are not as fancy as Sketchers ( the new line has more colors and fine lines though) MBT’s are more expensive around $200 in the States and 400TL in Turkey almost twice or triple than what Sketchers will cost. But it is a well known and well established product with proven benefits very durable as many of theirs users say.
